Yorkshire Terriers are very small dogs. They can handle living in
a small apartment and are well suited for this type of environment.
However, it is still important to exercise any size dog, even the
smaller dogs like the Yorkshire Terrier.
Yorkshire Terriers are about 10-15 lbs in weight. They are hearty but
fragile in some ways so please do not include this little dog in with
your small children. Children do not know their own strength and can
unintentionally hurt or even cause the death of small breed dogs.
- They're small legs can break very easily.
- They can get stuck in very small places.
- They can fall down small holes.
- They can be eaten by wild animals. Birds of prey.
- They are not amusement for children.
These dogs are very cute and cuddly. They are harder to potty break,
but that doesn't mean that you can't do it. Just be consistent and have
a watchful eye. Barking seems to be another problem with some of the
smaller breeds, but it is my personal opinion that it isn't the
Yorkshire Terriers fault or any breed dogs fault.
If there is blame, that goes to the owners. For training your Yorkie,
there is a wonderful online ebook. I highly recommend:
