To be or not to be...
Yorkshire Terrier Rescue - That is the question. Will you or will you
not? And, you have to know that just because you don't, doesn't mean
you're not a good person.
Rescue's for dogs, like that of the Yorkshire Terriers, is a loving
wonderful thing to consider. However, you must understand that these
sweet loving little dogs that are rescued, may truly be "rescued
Yorkshire Terriers" in every sense of the words.
In fact most dogs that end up in rescues do not end up there because
they are from loving homes. Some of them, yes, perhaps due to the
circumstances, may end up in this type of situation. Yet, many times it
is because of abuse that these dogs, er, Yorkshire Terriers, end up in
rescues.
If you want to specifically own a Yorkie, you will probably not find
one in your local shelter. Most little dogs do not last long there and
it's even more rare to find a pure breed small dog in a shelter.
However, there are Yorkshire Terrier rescues. Before you decide to do
this, please get all the facts about the dog you may end up taking home.
It may be very shy and even unwilling to love you, the way you want to
love it and have that love returned.
It may be from an abused home and in need of Vet care. Maybe even a
lot of Vet care.
Just really really consider all the facts, then make a wise and
informed decision.
